Our Mission Statement
It Takes A Village Animal Rescue & Resources is a 501C3 animal welfare organization. We provide nourishment, medical care, love and shelter to homeless animals while searching for their forever homes. Our mission is simply to protect and advocate for companion animals in need and to promote and provide the resources, education and programs that our community needs to adequately address animal welfare issues. Established in 2021
What We Do
At It Takes A Village we are working to create a future where no animal suffers from cruelty, neglect, or homelessness. With a bold goal of ending animal cruelty in our country by 2035, we are taking a multifaceted approach to build a more compassionate world for pets and people alike.
Through our Path to No-Kill, we are working to eliminate unnecessary euthanasia by increasing adoptions, forming strong transport partnerships, and ensuring every pet has access to affordable veterinary care. Our Village Transport Partners program saves animals from overcrowded, high-kill shelters and finds them loving homes in our surrounding communities.
The ITAV Spay & Neuter Clinic and Project: Humane Litter Prevention (TNR) tackle the root cause of overpopulation by providing low-cost and grant-funded sterilization services to pet owners and feral cat caretakers. By expanding these programs, we aim to significantly reduce the number of unwanted litters and free-roaming animals.
To support pet owners in times of hardship, our Pet Care Pantry provides free pet food and supplies year-round, ensuring that financial struggles don’t force families to surrender their beloved pets. Our free vaccine events offer life-saving rabies and distemper vaccinations to protect pets and public health.
Education and outreach are key to achieving lasting change. Our ITAV Animal Science & Education Program inspires the next generation by fostering compassion, conservation, and responsible pet ownership through free outdoor and classroom-based programming.
Additionally, we remain at the forefront of disaster response, assisting in evacuations and emergency sheltering for animals affected by natural disasters and local cruelty cases. Our agreement with local enforcement agencies ensures that neglected and abused animals receive the care they need while we work to hold offenders accountable.
With a strong foundation built on rescue, advocacy, and prevention, we are committed to achieving our 2035 vision—a future where every pet is valued, protected, and free from suffering. Together, with community support, we can end animal cruelty and build a humane world for all.
